One captured thing: a memory, a photo with a story attached, a voice note, an opinion, a hope. It is deliberately small. The whole design assumes you have ninety seconds, not an afternoon — because that assumption is the only one that survives contact with a real life.

Apps for iPhone and Android, and a browser for the longer sit-down tasks like managing your beneficiaries or exporting your data. Voice recording happens in the app.

No. A capable AI is included on every paid plan and you are not billed per question. If you are on the free plan you can optionally connect your own AI tool instead, but you do not have to buy anything to use MemoBeads properly.

A free plan, not a trial. Fifty Beads, no card, no expiry date. What it does not include is the part that involves other people — beneficiaries and Legacy — because that is a promise we can only make to people who are paying us to keep it.

No, and we are not going to build that. Your vault answers from what you actually recorded and can point to which Beads an answer came from. Where you never covered something, it says so rather than producing something plausible.

We understand the appeal of the other version. We also understand what it would mean to hand a grieving person a fabricated sentence in their mother's voice with no way to tell it was invented. "She never talked about this" is a real answer, and it belongs to her too.

Someone you nominate — your Appointee — reports it and provides a death certificate. A member of our team reviews it against the person you named. It is a human decision, deliberately, because the mistake we are guarding against is a living person's vault being opened to someone they did not choose.

Yes. Any Bead you mark private is excluded from beneficiary access permanently once you die — not hidden behind a setting somebody could later change. You can also choose to have the entire vault deleted on your death instead of passed on.

Nothing for the first year — that year is included with every paid plan. After that it is $39.99 a year, which any one beneficiary can pay on behalf of all of them. You can also prepay up to five years yourself while you are alive, if you would rather they never had to think about it.

Your beneficiaries get ninety days of notice, with repeated reminders, and if the first cannot be reached we escalate to the second. After that the vault is deleted. We would rather publish that plainly than imply we will keep things indefinitely and quietly change our minds in a decade.

They can download individual Beads that matter to them — a recording, a photo, a particular story. Not the vault in bulk. That is a consent limit: bulk export would let one relative redistribute your memories to people you never authorised, which would undo every private-Bead decision you made.

You are contacted first, more than once — a lapsed card is far more often an expired card than a decision. AI features pause, then the vault freezes. Your export button keeps working the whole time, including once it is frozen and heading for deletion, and the deletion warnings tell you so.

Yes — a button in your settings, on every plan including the free one, no ticket and no explanation required. You get your photos, video, voice, typed text and prompt answers back as plain folders that open without our software. The full detail is here.

We commit contractually — in the Terms of Service, not in marketing copy — to ninety days' notice before shutting down, with export live throughout and every user notified. This category has a real history of companies disappearing while holding people's recordings, and we would rather be held to a term than trusted on a vibe.

No. Your Beads are used to answer your questions and, later, your family's. They are not training material, for us or for the AI providers we work with, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers, brokers or insurers.

Yes — subscriptions and add-ons can both be given as gifts. The recipient completes setup and owns the account outright; you never get access to their vault. That is a feature, not an oversight: a vault someone knows their child can read is a vault they will be careful in.

MBHub — two to ten people on one bill, saving 10–20%. Each person keeps a completely separate sealed vault; whoever pays has no visibility into anyone's Beads.
